Jonathan’s Voice Reception – an evening to celebrate

Jonathan’s Voice hosted a Reception during INTA (International Trademark Attorneys) conference in London at the beginning of May. We hoped it would be an opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness of our work and generate support for mental health and wellbeing within the IP profession. We weren’t disappointed! It celebrated the best of the profession. It generated new ideas, new connections and new possibilities for how people can become involved in supporting Jonathan’s Voice and the wider wellbeing of the IP profession.

People care

During this very busy conference so many people came because they cared about mental health and well-being or wanted to find out more; people who wanted to be involved in creating a profession where people feel supported connected and able to speak openly when they are struggling.

Conversations matter

One of the joys of the evening was watching conversations unfold. Some people arrived knowing many others in the room. Some knew nobody at all. Yet throughout the evening, introductions were made, experiences were shared and new connections were formed. What encouraged us most was seeing the level of passion people brought to these conversations and the genuine desire to continue building momentum around this important topic

At Jonathan’s Voice, we often talk about the importance of speaking out. Not because conversations solve every problem, but because conversations are often where support begins.

Whether discussing workplace wellbeing, sharing experiences or simply checking in with another person, meaningful conversations have the power to remind us that we are not alone.

Mental health is a truly global conversation

One of the aims of the reception was to raise awareness of Jonathan’s Voice beyond the UK. With guests joining us from across the world, it quickly became clear that the conversations we are having around mental health and wellbeing are not unique to one country. The pressures may look different from place to place, but the need for support, understanding and connection is universal. Jonathan’s Voice currently has connections with firms in Europe, Australia and USA.

Our community is our greatest strength

The event reminded us that Jonathan’s Voice does not exist in isolation. From sponsors and supporting partners to volunteers, attendees and donors, so many people contributed their time, energy, expertise and resources to make the evening possible.

The reception would not have been possible without the very generous sponsorship of Stobbs and Elster & McGrady and from Mewburn Ellis as a supporting partner. To them, we are profoundly grateful.

There are many others without whom the charity could not thrive; our regular donors, corporate sponsors, those who volunteer, who fundraise, who donate their time and expertise, who participate in our webinars who talk to others about our work and share our resources.

Thank you to all those who continue to promote our key message

“Speak out for Mental Health”
