Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 – theme Moving more for Mental Health

How everyday adventures boost mental health

This personal story charts Andy’s journey from a fun childhood outdoors to stressful days in the legal sector and how rediscovering movement improved his mental health and brought back joy to his daily life. Read here

Andy’s story really resonated with me because up to the point where Andy was able to make changes to his life, there were so many similarities between him and Jonathan, in whose name Jonathan’s Voice was founded. Jonathan loved being outdoors and from an early age he was most happy walking in the Lakes, wearing possibly the smallest size of walking boots made! Tragically, when Jonathan was in a state of acute emotional and psychological distress the only solution that came to him in order to take away the unbearable pain he was experiencing was to take his own life.

Our charity was born out of the conviction that there could have been a different outcome. We strive to encourage people to share when they are struggling and seek support so that they can be supported to make the changes to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

LawCare has a free and confidential helpline that provides emotional support and is open 9am to 5pm every weekday (except bank holidays). Call us on 0800 279 6888It is available to those who work in the IP profession.
