The case for developing our Managers

An IP Inclusive, Focal Point and LawCare webinar
Tuesday 29 September 2026
12.30 – 1.30 pm

When LawCare’s 2025 Life in the Law survey asked “What could have a positive effect on mental health and wellbeing in legal workplaces?”, two key responses were:

  • Training managers
  • Valuing people management

Only 54.6% of respondents with managerial responsibilities had received training to support them in managing people.

In this webinar, Niamh Warnock, Engagement and Relationship Manager at LawCare, and Stella Chandler, Director at Focal Point, join IP Inclusive’s Lead Executive Officer Andrea Brewster to look at these key findings and what organisations can do to act on them.

Please join us to identify how managers and leaders can play a critical role in creating a more sustainable future for the sector.

The webinar will cover:

  • What Life in the Law 2025 tells us about the gap in management capability and support, and how this affects mental health and wellbeing in the legal sector
  • What steps organisations can take to equip their managers to
    • lead effectively
    • create healthy, inclusive workplaces for our people, both now and for the next generation of recruits
  • Q and A
  • Practical actions to take away

Who it’s for

This webinar is for anyone managing or supporting managers in the legal (in particular IP) sector – from private practices and in-house teams to suppliers and professional bodies. It will be useful to business support professionals as well as those in primarily legal roles.
