What to do when it all becomes too much (11 mins)

Recognising when stressors become overwhelming and some effective strategies to help deal with this.

In this video we look at how to calm down our amygdala (which plays a big role in the stress response) and the value of practising self-compassion.  We also look at understanding our ‘workable range’.  When we become stressed, distressed or overwhelmed we might react by becoming ‘hyper’ or ‘hypo’.  Learning how to track our responses can help us match the best strategy to deal with the situation to help us regain our equilibrium. Finally, we look at the value of taking time out and talking things through with other people.
