Understanding the stress response (fight, flight or freeze) and why it can lead to physical or mental health problems and eventually burn out if prolonged.
When we are confronted by a threat, the stress response (fight, flight or freeze) gets activated. This response is a reflex that activates various hormonal and physiological processes to get us out of immediate danger. This is only meant to be short-lived and becomes problematic when it goes on and on. This can be challenging in IP where there are often multiple stressors which come one after another.
