 Jonathan’s Voice goes Down Under!

Penny Aspinall and Graham McCartney were invited to talk on September 8th to F B Rice, an intellectual property firm with offices across Australia and a presence in New Zealand.  Jonathan had direct contact with F B Rice and they wanted to hear about the charity and its progress from Graham as well as a talk about Perfectionism and Imposter Syndrome from Penny.

Almost 150 people attended and the date was chosen as it linked with activities around R U OK? Day. This is a national day of action when Australians remind themselves that every day is the day to ask “are you OK?”. R U OK? (https://www.ruok.org.au/ ) is a charity inspiring Australians to start life changing conversations. It helps with guidance around wellbeing check-in conversations that are key to supporting people struggling with life to feel connected long before they are in crisis.

Mark Fyson’s run – City2Surf

In August, Mark Fyson, a friend of Jonathan from University but who now lives in Sydney undertook a sponsored run, City2Surf (https://city2surf.com.au/ ). Mark writes “Jonathan was a dear friend who took his own life. I miss him terribly but his spirt lives on in the great work of the charity set up by his close family so hopefully less people have to go through what they have”

Mark raised over £1000 for which the charity is indebted. Thank you to everyone who raises money for Jonathan’s Voice.
