It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace

This theme as chosen by World Federation for Mental Health is very close to the heart of Jonathan’s Voice and one of our key objectives.

The Mental Health Foundation writes “The value added to the economy by people who are at work and have or have had mental health problems is as high as £225 billion per year, which represents 12.1% of the UK’s total GDP. It’s vital that we protect that value by addressing mental health at work for those with existing issues, for those at risk, and for the workforce as a whole. A toxic work environment can be corrosive to our mental health. We believe in workplaces where everyone can thrive. We also believe in the role of employers, employees and businesses in creating thriving communities.”

Jonathan’s Voice strongly endorses this and works to encourage and support workplaces where all may thrive. We can offer short presentations or longer face to face training. We have an excellent audio supported guide for paralegals and business support staff in the Intellectual Property (IP) profession.

We understand the critical role that line managers play in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of colleagues and have recently updated our training for this group. Our training and resources are created specifically for the IP profession with an appreciation of its particular context.

Look out for the second edition of our guide for Senior Leaders – coming soon!

All our training is free at the point of delivery but to sustain the work of the charity we invite donations.
