A joint Jonathan’s Voice and IP Inclusive webinar
Thursday, November 7th 12.30 to 1.30pm.
Do you feel out of your depth if someone opens up to you about their mental health?
Feel unsure how to respond?
Concerned you might say the wrong thing?
In this webinar, we will:
- consider what might be helpful/unhelpful when talking to a friend, family member or work colleague about their emotional wellbeing
- learn techniques for facilitating sensitive conversations
- explore how to maintain appropriate boundaries.
The session will start with a conversation with colleagues who have had some experience of mental health difficulties, looking at the things people said that were helpful and those that really weren’t. Barbara Lawton, from Jonathan’s Voice, will then take us through some helpful ideas and techniques.
Meet the Speaker
Barbara Lawton has 30 years’ experience working as a counsellor, lecturer and mental health trainer. She is a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a former Chair of their Universities and Colleges Division.
Who’s it for?
This event is for all UK-based IP professionals and supporters of Jonathan’s Voice who are interested in mental wellbeing.
Bring a guest!
At IP Inclusive and Jonathan’s Voice we want to reach as many IP people as possible. Why not invite a guest to watch the webinar with you – someone in a different role or at a different career level, perhaps; an ally or potential ally; or a colleague who’s not yet involved with IP Inclusive or Jonathan’s Voice? They’ll be most welcome!
Registration
This event is free. So are all IP Inclusive’s resources. The Jonathan’s Voice events and resources are also free at the point of delivery.
That said, both organisations do need money to keep the show on the road, so if you enjoy the event please consider contributing via our Just Giving page. For more information, visit the IP Inclusive fundraising page, or the Jonathan’s Voice donations page.
If you have any access requirements, please get in touch with us at events@ipinclusive.org.uk and we’ll do what we can to help.
